Session Infomation

Terahertz opto-spintronics is a novel research field that focuses on an integration of optoelectronics, spintronics, and ultrafast terahertz photonics. Although ultra-demagnetization of ferromagnetic thin films on picosecond time scales was first observed nearly three decades ago, opto-spintronics based terahertz radiation sources have been rapidly developed until recently, thanks to a number of ground-breaking fundamental studies. The research interest moves from the physical mechanism of terahertz generation of ferromagnetic/heavy metal heterojunction, to the development of broad-band, high-efficiency and polarization controllable terahertz radiation emitter devices.
We encourage related new theories, new technologies and new methods applied in ultrafast opto-spintronics based terahertz radiation sources and their applications contribute to this session.
