Biography

Yang Yang obtained his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Zhejiang University in 2009, and his PhD degree in materials science from UCLA in 2015. Since December 2015, he has been employed in the state Key Laboratory of modern optical instrumentation of Zhejiang University. He is mainly engaged in the research of optoelectronic devices based on new semiconductors such as perovskite and organic semiconductors, with a recent focus on large-area solar cells and x-ray imagers. His recent works have been published in Nature photonics, Nature Materials and other leading journals. Dr. Yang co-founded Hangzhou Micorquanta Semiconductor Inc and had served as chief scientific officer since 2016. Micorquanta is a leading company commercializing perovskite devices, has set 6 world records for large-area perovskite solar cells during past fives years.
