Research Interests

Electromagnetics, periodic structures, metamaterials, metasurfaces,  millimeter-wave beam-steerable antennas, 3D printing antennas, transmitarray/reflectarray antennas, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces.

Biography

Peng Mei was born in Suizhou, Hubei Province, in 1993. He received the B.Eng and M.Eng degrees (With highest honor) in electromagnetic fields and microwave technology from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu, China, and the Ph.D. degree in wireless communications from the Aalborg University, Denmark, in 2015, 2018, and 2021, respectively.

His current research interests include periodic structures, metasurfaces, millimeter-wave multibeam antennas, transmitarray/reflectarray antennas.

Dr. Mei was a recipient of the Outstanding Student of UESTC (only ten awardees every year of UESTC) that is the highest honor for a graduate student at UESTC in 2017, the Excellent Graduate Student of UESTC in 2018, the Excellent Graduate Student of Sichuan Province in 2018, the Excellent Master Thesis from the Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE) in 2019, the top reviewer for the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation from June 2021 to May 2022.

Dr. Mei served and serves as a Session Chair for the IEEE-APS Topical Conference on Antennas and Propagation in Wireless Communication (APWC) in 2019, a Session Chair for the Progress In Electromagnetic Research Symposium (PIERS) in 2021, a Session Chair for the International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (ISAP) in 2022, and a Session Chair for the Progress In Electromagnetic Research Symposium (PIERS) in 2023. Dr. Mei currently serves an a chief guest editor of the special issue "Advanced Massive MIMO Antenna Arrays, Metasurfaces, and Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces for Sensing, Localizations, and Wireless Communications" launched by Sensors, a lead guest editor of the special section "Recent Advances on Absorber/Rasorber and Their Applications on Antennas and EMC" launched by IEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation, and Organization Committee (best paper competition co-chair) of the 2023 International Workshop on Antenna Technology on 15 - 17 May, 2023, Aalborg, Denmark.
