Research Interests

My research primarily focuses on the multi-dimensional and multi-parameter regulation of optical orbital and spin angular momentum through the utilization of novel optical field regulation technologies involving optical metamaterials and metasurfaces. The objective is to apply these advancements to optical mode multiplexing communications, optical interconnections, and on-chip optical communication devices.

We have successfully demonstrated, for the first time, a multiplexed on-chip Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) emitter with an ultra-broadband response. This was achieved through the design of an inverse metasurface with joint path resonance phase control, which is compatible with wavelength division multiplexing. This groundbreaking work has been published in Light: Science & Application, a prestigious optical journal.

Additionally, we have proposed and demonstrated a broadband on-chip photonic spin Hall element using inverse design techniques. This work has been published in Photonics Research and has been recognized by the editor-in-chief as a cover paper.

In the realm of space and fiber interconnection communications, we have designed and demonstrated a mode demultiplexer based on Pancharatnam-Berry (PB) phase, as well as an integrated fiber-based OAM (de)multiplexer.

Biography

Associate Professor at the Institute of Micro/Nano Optoelectronics at Shenzhen University. Bachelor's degree in Optical Information Science and Technology from Harbin Institute of Technology (2005-2009), Master's degree in Optics (2009-2011), and PhD in Physics (2011-2015) from the same university. Postdoctoral researcher at the Shenzhen University Optical Engineering Postdoctoral Mobile Station (2015-2017); postdoctoral researcher at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore (2017-2018); Assistant Professor at the Shenzhen University Nanophotonics Research Center (2018-2021).

Principal investigator for 1 National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Youth Project, leading investigator for 2 ongoing NSFC general projects and 1 Guangdong Provincial project; additionally, participated as a key core member in 1 Ministry of Science and Technology major R&D project, 1 NSFC key project, and 3 Huawei horizontal projects.

Focuses on utilizing novel optical metasurfaces for optical field manipulation, achieving multidimensional and multi-parameter control of light's orbital and spin angular momentum, and applying them to fields such as mode-division multiplexing optical communications, optical interconnects, and on-chip integrated optical communication devices. In the past five years, published over 70 SCI papers, including in journals such as Nature Communications, Light: Science & Applications, Physical Review Letters, Laser & Photonics Review, ACS Photonics, and Photonics Research, with over 30 papers as first or corresponding author. Seven papers received TOP Download Paper Awards from various journals. Currently cited 4216 times on Google Scholar with an H-index of 31.
