2_FocusSession.SC2: Plasmonics and Photonic Nanostructure Surfaces for Manipulation of Light
Organized by Prof. Rongjun Zhang (Fudan University) and Prof. Junpeng Guo (University of Alabama in Huntsville)
Session's Information:
Sub-wavelength plasmonic and photonic nanostructure surfaces can enhance light-matter interactions on surfaces. Nanostructure surfaces can be utilized for many applications such as biochemical sensing, solar energy harvesting, spectral filtering, and polarization controls of light. Examples of plasmonic and photonic surface nanostructures include metal-dielectric-metal gap plasmon structures, optical antennas, guide-mode resonance structures, nano-cavities and nano-apertures, metasurfaces, metal/dielectric nanolayer structures, 2D materials, and etc. This session solicits papers on the topic of light-nanostructure surface interactions involving plasmonic and non-plasmonic resonances for controlling absorption, spectrum, phase, and polarization of light. Emerging area of nonlinear light interactions with surface nanostructures involving metal-dielectric resonant structures, epsilon-near-zero resonance, and 2D materials is also the subject of this session.
