PIERS2018 Toyama Focus/Special Sessions
3_FocusSession.SC3: Advanced Optofluidics: Photonic Systems for Fluids and Life Science 1
Organized by Prof. Francesco Simoni (Universita Politecnica delle Marche) and Dr. Luigino Criante (Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia)
Session's Information:
Optofluidics includes a wide spectrum of scientific problems and technological approaches where optical phenomena or optical systems are related to fluid matter. The strong interdisciplinary character of this topic includes fundamental research and applications in chemistry, physics, biology, materials and medicine. The most recent developments coming from different combinations of photonics and microfluidics will be discussed in this session with special emphasis on biosensing and smart optofluidic platforms for applications related to life science.
