SC5&SC4: On Earth's Electromagnetic Environment, Space Weather Phenomena, and Global Climate Variability
Organized by Prof. Rachid Talhi (University of Tours)
Session's Information:
Dear Piers Friends and Colleagues
At this time where the environmental problems are so important, our Piers Session offers a unique opportunity to bring together scientists, engineers, program managers, and other prospective contributors, in order to review progress, recent advances, and futures directions in all aspects of Earth's E.M Environment and its potential connection with the Global Climate Variability. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* Earth's Electromagnetic Environment Studies; Global Earth Observations, Modelling and Calibration; Radio waves Propagation & Scattering; Characterization of Ionospheric Effects/Processes from Ground and Satellite Observations; Ionospheric irregularities and radio wave scintillations; Prediction and Forecasting of Ionospheric Effects; Future Wireless Communications Systems; MIMO and Multi-antenna communications; Remote Sensing; Small Satellites (Cube-Sat) Technology and Applications; Solar Radiation Storms; Space Weather Activities and Ionospheric Effects on Telecommunications and Navigation Systems.
* Observation and Understanding of the Sun behaviour which is the main Source of Space Weather Phenomena on Earth; Prediction of these Phenomena that affect our daily lives, environments, and Space Systems (GNSS, GPS, etc.);
* Anthropogenic Activities (i.e. E.M Pollution from Power Grid, Powerful Transmitters -Radio & TV Broadcasting- , Mobile devices and Cellular Antennas, Wi-Fi Networks, etc.) and their Potential Impact on the Global Climate Variability.
