SC5: Theoretical and Experimental Studies Related to GPR

Organized by Prof. Masahiko Nishimoto (Kumamoto University) and Dr. Akira Hirose (The University of Tokyo)

Session's Information:

In this session, theoretical and experimental studies related to GPR are widely treated. The term "GPR" also includes "surface-penetrating radar" that is applied to sensing of various structures such as concrete building, bridges, etc. as well as probing through the ground. Suggested topics are as follows (but not limited to them): Subsurface sensing and imaging, Radar signal processing, Signal analysis, Application of GPR, Mine detection, Utility (pipes and cables) detection, Nondestructive testing (NDT) and evaluation (NDE), Antennas for GPR, Inverse problem, etc.
