2_FocusSession.SC2: New Principles and Applications of Photonic/Phononic Crystals 1
Organized by Prof. Yun Lai (Nanjing University) and Prof. Lei Shi (Fudan University)
Session's Information:
Photonic/phononic crystals are well known for producing frequency band gaps which prevent electromagnetic/sound waves to propagate in certain or all directions. Recently, by introducing some new concepts into photonic/phononic crystals, new principles have been proposed in this field, such as topological photonics, PT-symmetric photonics, bound states in continuum, ultratransaprency, etc. And the applications of photonic/phononic crystals have been extended to photovoltaics, optical chips, structual coloration, sound field control, etc. The purpose of the session is to bring together those scientists who are engaged in broad areas related to photonic/phononic crystals, so that we can share and exchange views on the state-of-the-art development in this exciting field.
