SC3: Nano-photonic Devices for Optical Interconnects and Optical Sensing
Organized by Prof. Alan X. Wang (Oregon State University)
Session's Information:
During the past years, innovative nano-photonic devices such as photonic crystal waveguides, surface plasmonics, and microring resonators have played pivotal roles in optical interconnects and optical sensing applications. This session emphasizes the contribution of nano-photonic devices which will result in the enhancement of system level performance, including the size, weight and power reduction for optical interconnects and the improvement of sensitivity, selectivity, and throughput for chemical and biological sensing. The combination of nano-photonic structures with new materials such as 2-D materials, bio-inspired materials, multifunctional materials, and microfluidic systems are highly encouraged.
