PIERS2019 Xiamen Focus/Special Sessions
SC1: Single and Multiple Scattering in the Earth System: Theory and Applications 1
Organized by Dr. Lei Bi (Zhejiang University) and Prof. Pengwang Zhai (University of Maryland Baltimore County)
Session's Information:
Single and multiple scattering of solar radiation, earth emitted radiation, and active laser and radar beams in the Earth system (atmosphere, land and ocean) play a fundamental role in atmospheric and oceanic optics, remote sensing or climate modeling studies. This session is to promote the communication of the latest research on related topics including single scattering by atmospheric and oceanic particles (aerosols, clouds and hydrosols), multiple scattering in the atmosphere-land and atmosphere-ocean coupled systems, fast radiative transfer models, and relevant applications in various passive and active remote sensing (e.g., aerosol and cloud retrievals and ocean color remote sensing), numerical weather forecast, and climate modeling studies. This session features as a communication forum for fundamental research and downstream applications.
Organizer's Information:
