SC5: Electromagnetic Well Logging
Organized by Prof. Decheng Hong (Jilin University) and Dr. Hu Li (Maxwell Dynamics, Inc.)
Session's Information:
This session welcomes all papers that are related to Electromagnetic (EM) Well Logging and its applications in oil&gas exploration, mining, and other resources explorations. This session aims at presenting frontier researches in the theory, forward modeling, inversion, interpretation, and machine learning applications for solving the EM well logging problems and improving the interpretations of EM well logging measurements. All researches related to EM well logging are very welcome: new tool design concept, new efficient analytic solutions of EM fields in vertical or radial layered media, Hybrid numerical modeling method, Joint inversion method, meta-heuristic and deterministic inversion method, advanced interpretation, numerical modeling and inversion based on machine learning method, and so on. The EM well logging measurements may include but not limited to the laterolog-type measurement, induction logging, Dielectric logging, Logging-While-Drilling (LWD) EM methods, borehole micro-resistivity scanner, and near-bit resistivity measurements.
