PIERS2019 Xiamen Focus/Special Sessions  
SC3: Optical, Electro-magnetic and Acoustic Manipulation in Biology
Organized by Prof. Remo Proietti Zaccaria (Italian Institute of Technology & Ningbo Institute of Materials and Technology Engineering, CAS) and Dr. Dan Cojoc (Institute of Materials --- National Research Council)
Session's Information:
The session focuses on fundamentals and applications of optical, electro-magnetic and acoustic based methods for particle manipulation in biology, from single-molecule and single-cell experiments to molecules and cells sorting.
We welcome contribution related to (but not limited to) the following specific topics:
1) new theoretical approaches describing the interaction of bio-molecules and cells with the electromagnetic field
2) single-molecule experiments describing the dynamics of the reactions
3) single-cell experiments elucidating mechanisms involved in cell signaling, motility and survival
4) new experimental approaches to trap, detect and manipulate particles in biology.
