SC2&SC3: Novel Ways to Control Light-matter Interactions 1
Organized by Dr. Xiao Lin (Nanyang Technological University), Prof. Ido Kaminer (Technion, Israel Institute of Technology), and Prof. Hongsheng Chen (Zhejiang University)
 
Session's Information:
Controlling light-matter interactions at will, including manipulating the light-particle-matter interaction, is a long-sought-after goal in modern physics and applications. Recent advances in exotic materials (including 2D materials, metamaterials/metasurfaces, epsilon-near-zero materials, gain materials, photonic crystals, PT-symmetric structures, nonlinear materials, and other complex media), electron microscopy, plasmonics, and quantum optics have resulted in intriguing achievements in the manipulation of light and highly squeezed polaritons even in the extreme nanoscale. This session will explore the novel (including classical and quantum) ways to control light-matter interactions in a flexible way by using these exotic materials and beyond.
