PIERS2019 Xiamen Focus/Special Sessions
SC3: Terahertz Wave Sensing and Imaging: From Novel Devices to Applications
Organized by Prof. Li-Guo Zhu (Institute of Fluid Physics, China Academy of Engineering Physics) and Prof. Emma Pickwell-MacPherson (The Chinese University of Hong Kong & University of Warwick)
Session's Information:
Terahertz (THz) wave, bridging the gap between millimeter wave and infrared light, has potential applications on nondestructive testing, label-free bio-imaging and high-speed communication. With the advances of sources and detectors, THz technology is stepping forward to real applications. This session focuses on THz technology (both THz electronics and THz photonics) for potential applications, and emphasizes on THz sensing and imaging. We welcome contributions on, but not limited to, new concepts, novel devices (sources, modulators, manipulators, and detectors), and real applications of THz sensing and imaging.
