PIERS2018 Toyama Focus/Special Sessions
1_FocusSession.SC1: Kohei Hongo Memorial Session
Organized by Dr. Andrey V. Osipov (Microwaves and Radar Institute, German Aerospace Center (DLR)) and Prof. Kazuya Kobayashi (Chuo University)

Session's Information:
The session will commemorate the contribution of Prof. Kohei Hongo (1939 – 2017) to electromagnetics. The research interests of Prof. Hongo included the development and application of the Kobayashi potential method to the diffraction problems associated with circular and rectangular conducting plates and related more complex configurations, and the refinement of Physical Optics for computing the field scattered by smooth and edged obstacles. Contributions to the session will address the Kobayashi potential method and related techniques, e.g. Wiener-Hopf method, as well as recent advances in diffraction and scattering theory.

Organizer's Information:

  • Dr. Andrey V. Osipov
