PIERS2016 Shanghai Focus/Special Sessions
2_FocusSession.SC2: Transformation Optics 1
Organized by Prof. Hongsheng Chen (Zhejiang University) and Prof. Yu Luo (Nanyang Technological University)

Session's Information:
Lately, transformation optics has driven the development of metamaterial science, providing a direct link between a desired electromagnetic phenomenon and the material response required for its occurrence. This power framework opens up the door to many unprecedented optical functions including cloak of invisibility and broadband light harvesting. This focus session aims to exchange recent breakthroughs and future developments of transformation optics, with regard to both fundamental science and practical applications.

Topics: Transformation optics, metamaterials, optics and photonics

Keynote speakers:

Ortwin Hess, Imperial College London

Organizer's Information:

  • Prof. Hongsheng Chen
    Zhejiang University

  • Prof. Yu Luo
    Nanyang Technological University
