PIERS2015 Prague Focus/Special Sessions
SC3: Advanced Optofluidics: Optical Control and Photonics in Microfluidics
Organized by Prof. Francesco Simoni (Universita Politecnica delle Marche, Italy)

Session's Information:
In the past few years merging of optics into microfluidics led to the new field denominated "optifluidics" including a wide spectrum of scientific problems and technological approaches where optical phenomena or optical systems are related to microfluidics. The most recent developments coming from different combinations of optics, photonics and microfluidics will be discussed in this session including optical-actuations, optical manipulation, optofluidic lasers, optofluidic sensors and related fields.
