Biography

Jacob is a PhD Candidate at Queen's University in his third year of full-time research focused on the complex intersection between nonlinear quantum optics, photonic integrated circuits, and machine learning. During his graduate studies, Jacob has been awarded a Vanier CGS ('24), NSERC CGS-M ('22), Vector Scholarship in Artificial Intelligence ('22), Ontario Graduate Scholarship ('23), and was also selected as a '24 Dennis Washington Leadership Graduate Scholar. He's a driven young researcher who hopes to make his mark by designing and realizing revolutionary quantum technologies. Before he found physics, Jacob was a successful child actor having voiced main characters in many cartoons including Catboy in PJ Masks. He maintains an interest in the film industry, enjoys snowboarding, and is an avid fan of the Toronto Raptors.
