SC2: THz Metamaterials, Devices and Systems 1

Session's Information:
Intensive research effort has been recently dedicated to terahertz science, thanks to numerous envisaged applications in technologically relevant sectors, such as beyond-5G wireless communications, safety, material characterization, industrial quality control, and bioengineering.
The engineering of the THz systems required in order to deploy such novel technological paradigms relies on the availability of frequency-tunable components, capable of controlling the amplitude, phase, polarization, and wavefront of the propagating THz waves.
In this context, metamaterial and metasurface solutions have been proven as powerful tools, providing electromagnetic solutions for the engineering of compact, low-loss, functional, and potentially tunable devices in THz systems. This session reviews some of the recent advances in the field.
