Inverse Design Methods in Detection and Cloaking Problems
Organized by Prof. Gennady V. Alekseev (Institute of Applied Mathematics FEB RAS) and Professor Yury V. Shestopalov (University of Gavle)
 
Session's Information:
The ``Inverse Design Methods in Detection and Cloaking Problems'' session will include recent achievements in such areas of study, where optimization method is used for solving problems of designing invisibility cloaks, illusion devices, concentrators, rotators and other special functional devices in electromagnetics, acoustics and heat transfer.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
- regularization and optimization in inverse problems for models of physical fields scattering in inhomogeneous anisotropic media;
- mathematical and computational aspects of the inverse design method;
- inverse design methods in electromagnetic and acoustic cloaking problems;
- inverse design methods in manipulating thermal and dc fields;
- inverse design of special functional devices (illusion devices, concentrators, rotators) in electromagnetics, acoustics, heat transfer;
- inverse design of multilayered structures;
- inverse design methods in nonlinear interaction of physical fields;
- optimization methods in source detection problems;
- optimization methods in design of materials with prescribed properties;
- optimization methods in inverse problems for nonlinear models of wave propagation;
- topology optimization methods in design of cloaks and concentrators.
